Abstract Cilj istaživanja: Cilj istraživanja je bio ispitati na koji način edukacija o komunikacijskim vještinama utječe na percipiranu razinu vlastitih komunikacijskih vještina, zadovoljstvo poslom, te percipirani stres na poslu.
Materijali i metode: U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 63 ispitanika od toga 59 žena i 4 muškarca u dobi od 20 do 60 godina (M=36,91). Program Edukacije iz komunikacijskih vještina se provodi od prosinca 2018. godine. Dogovoreni program edukacije i razrađeni kurikulum dio su nastavnog programa koji se naslanja na dosadašnji program izbornog predmeta Komunikacijske vještine u zdravstvu koji se održava na Medicinskom fakultetu i diplomskom studiju sestrinstva Sveučilišta u Splitu. Edukacija komunikacijskih vještina u zdravstvu, predstavlja organiziranu nastavu iz područja općih i specifičnih komunikacijskih vještina u zdravstvu. Sastoji se od uvodnog predavanja koje upoznaje djelatnike sa sadržajem edukacije i deset radionica. Prije, ali i nakon radionica, u svrhu evaluacije programa, primijenili smo upitnik o zadovoljstvu na radnom mjestu, odnosima s kolegama, odnosima s bolesnicima i osjetljivosti na stres.
Rezultati: Analizom rezultata utvrđeno je da je edukacija iz komunikacijskih vještina utjecala na ispitanike tako da su nakon edukacije procjenili svoje komunikacijske vještine pozitivnijima, bolja je suradnja s drugim ljudima, te lakše rješavanje teškoća koje se pojave tijekom grupnog ili timskog rada. Edukacija je povećala asertivnost, pomogla u boljem suočavanju s lošim kritikama i postizanju kompromisa. Ispitanici su povećali zadovoljstvo sadašnjim poslom, te imaju manju količinu stresa na poslu. Smanjena je frustracija te povećan subjektivni osjećaj otpornosti na bolest. Edukacija je također povećala osjećaj empatije ispitanika, te smanjila napetost u komunikaciji sa nadređenima, suradnicima, prijateljima i članovima obitelji.
Zaključak: Edukacija iz komunikacijskih vještina važna je za medicinsko osoblje. Te vještine su gotovo jednako važne kao i samo znanje liječnika. Ispitanici su nakon provedene edukacije poboljšali komunikacijske vještine, povećali zadovoljstvo poslom i smanjili stres. Time možemo zaključiti da je edukacija bila uspješna.
Abstract (english) Objective: The research aimed to investigate how education in communication skills affects the perceived level of personal communication skills, employment satisfaction and perceived work stress.
Materials and the method: The sample consisted of 63 participants. There were 59 female and 4 male participants. The age of participants ranged from 20 to 60 (M = 36,91). The programme of Education in communication skills has been in use since December 2018. Both the agreed programme of Education in communication skills and the developed curriculum are a part of the educational programme that is connected to the programme of the elective module Communication Skills in Health, attended both at the Medical Faculty and on the Master programme of the Nursing Studies at the University of Split. Education in communication skills in healthcare includes organised teaching from the area of general and specific communication skills in healthcare. The Education consists of the introductory class where the medical personnel is being familiarised with the context of the Education as well as contains 10 workshops. In the context of the evaluation of the programme, before and after the workshops, we have used the questionnaire on the topic of satisfaction at the workplace, satisfaction in relationships with both colleagues as well as with the patients and sensitivity to stress.
Results: The analysis of the results concluded Education in communication skills affected the participants. After Education, participants rated their communication skills as more positive. Furthermore, participants reported better cooperation with other people as well as an easier time when dealing with problems that are present during group or teamwork. Education in communication skills increased assertiveness, helped to improve dealing with bad criticism as well as improved the achievement of compromises of the participants. Participants had a higher current job satisfaction as well as lower level of work stress. Participants’ frustration also decreased, while the subjective feeling of the resistance to diseases increased. Education also increased the level of empathy of the participants as well as lowered the tensions in communication with superiors, colleagues, friends and family members.
Conclusion: Education in communication skills is important for medical personnel. Communication skills are almost as equally important as the medical knowledge of the doctors. After attending the Education in communication skills, there was an improvement in participants’ communication skills. Furthermore, the participants reported higher job satisfaction and lower stress levels; therefore, we can conclude the Education was successful.
