Abstract
Cilj: Istražiti postoje li spolne razlike prilikom odabira različitih vrsta trajnog srčanog elektrostimulatora. Ustroj istraživanja: Retrospektivno kohortno istraživanje. Mjesto istraživanja: Odjel za kardiologiju, Klinika za unutarnje bolesti, Klinički bolnički centar Split. Sudionici: Analizirani su podatci 2295 bolesnika koji su prvi put ugradili trajni srčani elektrostimulator u razdoblju od 2001. do 2010. godine. Glavne mjere ishoda: Spol ispitanika i vrsta trajnog srčanoga elektrostimulatora. Promatran je postotak muškaraca i žena koji su prvi put ugradili određenu vrstu trajnog srčanoga elektrostimulatora te analizirano postojanje spolnih razlika. Rezultati: Ispitivanu skupinu sačinjavalo je 1419 (61,8%) muškaraca i 876 (38,2%) žena koji su prvi put ugradili trajni srčani elektrostimulator u rečenom razdoblju. Bolesnici su podijeljenji u 5 skupina ovisno o tipu ugrađenog trajnog srčanog elektrostimulatora. Najviše je bilo bolesnika sa ugrađenim VVIR-tipom (1798; 78,3%), zatim sa VDD-tipom (360; 15,7%), te DDD-tipom (109; 4,8%) i na kraju s ICD-tipom (16; 0,7%) i AAIR-tipom (12; 0,5%). Jedino su u DDD-tipu postojale spolne razlike s time da je muškarcima statistički značajno češće ugrađen (χ2 =11,28; P=0,0008). Zaključak: Postoje spolne razlike za DDD-tip elektrostimulatora, koji je statistički značajno češće ugrađen muškarcima u odnosu na žene, dok za ostale vrste trajnih srčanih elektrostimulatora ne postoje.
Abstract (english)
Objectives: To research possible sex differences in the selection of permanent cardiac pacemaker. Design: Retrospective cohort study. Settings: Department of Cardiology, Clinic of Internal Diseases, University Hospital Center Split. Participans: The data for the 2295 patients who implanted pacemaker for the first time were anylized in the period between 2001. and 2010. Main outcomes measures: Patient's sex and type of permanent cardiac pacemaker. Percentage of men and women who implanted pacemaker for the first time will be analyzed according to sex. Results: There were 1419 (61,8%) men and 876 (38,2%) women who implanted permanent cardiac pacemaker in the period of interest. Patients were divided in 5 groups depending of implanted pacemaker type. VVIR-type (1798; 78,3%) was implanted to the majority of patients, followed by VDD-type (360; 15,7%), DDD-type (109; 4,8%), ICD-type (16; 0,7%), and AAIR-type (12; 0,5%). The only sex difference was observed for DDD-type, where men statisticly significant more often recieved this type of pacemaker (χ2 =11,28; P=0,0008). Conclusion: Sex differences do exist in selection of permanent cardiac pacemaker. DDD-type of pacemaker was implanted statisticly significant in higher rate in men compared to women.
