Abstract
Cilj istraživanja: Cilj je istražiti povezanost između težine akutnog popuštanja lijeve klijetke i serumskih razina ukupnog testosterona u muškaraca. Ustroj istraživanja: Provedeno je presječno istraživanje za razdoblje od 1. studenog 2011. do 1. travnja 2013. godine, a sudionici su bili bolesnici hospitalizirani zbog akutnog popuštanja srčane funkcije u sklopu kroničnog srčanog zatajenja. Mjesto istraživanja: Odjel za bolesti srca i krvnih žila KBC-a Split, lokalitet Križine. Sudionici: Istraživanje je obuhvatilo 81 bolesnika hospitaliziranog zbog akutnog popuštanja srčane funkcije u sklopu kroničnog srčanog zatajenja. Glavne mjere ishoda: Korelacija između serumskih razina testosterona (nmol/l), NT-proBNP-a (pmol/l) i vrijednosti EF (%). Rezultati: Postotak bolesnika sa zatajivanjem srca koji imaju snižene vrijednosti testosterona je 30.9%. Bolesnici sa nižim serumskim razinama ukupnog testosterona imaju više serumske vrijednosti NT-proBNP-a (r = -0.426; p < 0.01). Bolesnici sa nižim serumskim razinama ukupnog testosterona imaju niže vrijednosti ejekcijske frakcije (r = 0.227; p = 0.012). Naposljetku, bolesnici sa nižim serumskim vrijednostima NT-proBNP-a imaju više vrijednosti ejekcijske frakcije (r = - 0.327; p = 0.003). Zaključci: Ovim istraživanjem dokazali smo postojanje povezanosti serumskih razina testosterona sa NT-proBNP-om i EF.
Abstract (english)
Objectives: To investigate a correlation between the severity of acute left ventricle failure and serum testosterone level in men. Design: A cross-sectional study was made for the period from November 1st, 2011 to April 1st, 2013. Participants were all patients hospitalized for acute heart failure during the time period. Settings: of cardiovascular diseases, Department of Internal Medicine of University Hospital Split, Split, Croatia. Participants: Study enrolled 81 patients that were hospitalized for the diagnosis of acute heart failure at the Division of cardiovascular diseases, Department of Internal Medicine of University Hospital Split, Split, Croatia. Main outcome measures: A correlation among serum testosterone level (nmol/l), NT-proBNP (pmol/l) and EF (%). Results: Percentage of patients with heart failure that have lower values of testosterone is 30.9%. Patients with lower serum level of total testosterone have a significantly higher serum level of NT-proBNP (r = -0.426; p < 0.01). Patients with lower serum level of total testosterone have a significantly lower values of EF (r = 0.227; p = 0.012). Finally, patients with lower serum level of NT-proBNP have a significantly higher values of EF (r = - 0.327; p = 0.003). Conclusion: There is a correlation between serum testosterone level, NT-proBNP and EF.
